At a gas station the other day, there was an old man, with a walker beside the open door of his pickup, sitting in the driver’s seat sorting through some papers. The wind suddenly caught one of those papers and started blowing it away. A woman in a nearby car got out of the car and quickly snagged the runaway paper and returned it to him. He was clearly touched by a simple act of kindness by someone who recognized they had the ability to make his life better, even in the smallest of ways. That’s kindness – watching for ways to serve others. It was cool to see.
